Both are common building materials found in many homes. Read on for the answer!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mold generally does not grow directly on copper pipes because copper has antimicrobial properties that inhibit mold and bacterial growth. However, mold can grow on dust, dirt, or other organic matter that may collect on the surface of copper pipes, especially if there\u2019s moisture <a><\/a>present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the surrounding environment is damp (like in basements, crawl spaces, or near plumbing leaks), mold may grow on nearby surfaces, insulation, or drywall near the pipes, indirectly affecting the pipes as well.
