Mold Testing Method: Humidity Readings
Humidity readings are typically taken using a Hygrometer (shown below). These are instruments used to measure relative humidity levels in the air. Elevated humidity levels may indicate a moisture problem in the area. The ideal humidity range for a home in Florida is between 45-55%. Typically, mold requires at least 55%+ humidity to grow.
FUN FACT: It is recommended that you run your exhaust fan while you shower to help remove excess moisture from your bathroom.
