Mold Testing Method: Swabs
While Air-O-Cell machines are the most precise way to assess mold presence, we can’t forget about their handy-dandy side kick swabs! Swabbing surface samples is a necessary component of assessments to confirm which fungi is growing on what surface. This is particularly important because air analysis samples are often positive for multiple types of fungi, some which are normally occurring in the air. Swabbing is also beneficial for determining proper remediation protocol of the area. The samples are also sent to an independent, AIHA-accredited laboratory for analysis and included on reports.
